About My Handle

I chose the handle "Manax" around 1985. I was probably in high-school
at the time.
It was originally "Apple Manax", and it was the handle I used when cracking
games. The "Manax" part was completely made up, based on a couple of other
words. The "Apple" part was because I was using an
Apple //e.
The only game I cracked that might have been distributed outside of
myself was "Championship Lode Runner".
A sequal to the Broderbund
classic Lode Runner. Unfortunately Broderbund
is owned now by
a stupid company.
I should really write a rant about Hasbro.

Anyway, it was a made up name, and somewhere along the way I abandoned the
"Apple" part, and kept Manax.
For most of my college career, the handle was dormant. I resurrected it once
I started playing computer games again.
I also use
Manax
on slashdot and
Battle net.
A little interesting tid bit, I was recently told that "Manax" is
Russian for something like "monk" or "hermit".
